Bridging Innovation: Using ChatGPT to Streamline Communication Between Research & Product Teams

Writer's picture: Matt StrainMatt Strain

During my time at Adobe's Research Lab, I worked closely with research scientists to transfer their inventions across AI, Machine Learning, NLP, HCI, Computer Vision and more to product teams. Nearly all companies find that the cultural differences and career priorities gaps between researchers and product teams can lead to communication challlenges.

Recently, I discovered a simple ChatGPT prompt to help bridge this gap. By using just the paper's Title and Abstract, a non-technical manager can generate a high-level understanding of the research. This can guide productive discussions, enlighten product teams and guide researchers in collaborating with product managers. The ultimate shared goal is to increase the impact of their research.

Take this prompt for a spin and tell me what you think
