AI for Non-Profits -- Recruiting for Board Posts (part 2)




Today, I was very pleasantly surprised by how ChatGPT helped with a job description and a talent identification and recruiting plan for a new board memnber. 


I had ChatGPT help develop a plan to recruit a new board member. Specifically. 


➊  Draft a description for a specific board position

➋  Assist in developing a recruiting plan

➌  Develop a set of behavioral interview questions. 

➍  Create a candidate evaluation rubric that reduces bias


The exact prompts are here and a link to the results is below.


♦ Prompt 1: "Act as an expert in recruiting non-profit board members. Draft a job description for a new board member for the non-Profit, Fotokids. (www.fotokids.org) We are looking for someone with donor relations experience that can help us strategize on how to expand our donor base in the US for this Guatemala-based non-profit. The ideal candidate will have board experience, speak Spanish, have experience in Central America or emerging markets, and have current expertise in current approaches to fundraising and donor development."

[Obviously, you'll replace my details with the high-level specifics that fit your need] 


♦ Prompt 2: “Based on the specifics of this experience, can you help me develop a plan to identify and recruit candidates?"


♦ Prompt 3: "As as a professional recruiter for non-profit boards. Can you create a set of behavioral interview questions that will help us understand the experience and cultural fit?"


♦ Prompt 4: "Act as a professional hiring manager. Create a scoring rubric that Fotokids can use to evaluate the candidates in an unbiased, professional way."


PLEASE, use this only as a starting point. Make sure to read and review it carefully. These technologies make a lot of mistakes. And, it's a really bad look if your colleagues think you're delegating your trusted work to a hallucinating bot.
