AI Fundamentals for Professionals
Half-day intensive in downtown Boston on March 20
AI is here. Are you ready for it?
Maybe you've tried ChatGPT once or twice, but it didn’t seem useful. Maybe you keep hearing that AI will “change everything,” but you don’t see how it applies to you. Maybe your team is using AI more, and you recognize you need to join them.
AI provides amazing benefits, but getting started can be frustrating. Should you ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity? Do you have to become a “prompt engineer?” Do you need to understand complex AI jargon? (our answers: any, no, and no).
This is a practical, introductory workshop that will get you up and running. You'll experience what AI can do now, using free tools that are easy to use. You’ll learn core skills to make AI work for you. You’ll leave with the foundation to embrace AI solutions today and in the future.
This workshop is for you if any of these resonate:
You’ve heard amazing things about AI, but you haven’t found it helpful yourself
You worry that you’re getting behind at work, or that you’ll be “replaced by AI”
You’re curious and motivated, but aren’t sure how to get started

Professionals who are looking for ways to be more productive, stay ahead of technology, and future-proof their positions and careers. You don’t need to be a techie, a manager, a creative, or an analyst – though all of those will find this workshop useful.

Part 1: AI Essentials and Inspiration
Gain an understanding of how today’s most powerful AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity—are transforming the workplace. Learn why these tools are widely adopted, and assess the impact AI might have on your job and industry.
Part 2: Core AI Skills
Discover how AI can be a productivity partner across different professional roles. Learn essential prompting techniques to maximize AI’s effectiveness. Through hands-on exercises, you’ll practice using AI to synthesize information, generate compelling visuals, and support decision-making.
Part 3: Applying AI to Work
We’ll look at how AI can support you across all areas of your life, including planning events, improving personal organization, helping with difficult decisions, and enhancing communication and relationships. You’ll practice with activities relevant to how you want to use AI for yourself at work.
Part 4: Developing a Personal AI Plan
Learn to develop an “AI mindset,” a practical approach to embracing AI today and in the future. Define clear, actionable steps to integrate AI into your professional toolkit, ensuring continuous learning and long-term impact in your career.

This isn’t a lecture; it’s a high-energy, hands-on, interactive workshop. You will participate in group, pair, and individual activities, and will practice AI skills using their own phone or laptop. There's ample time for questions and individual support.

No experience with AI is necessary. Participants will fill out a short pre-workshop survey on current AI use and attitudes, which we use to tailor the instruction and practice.

This $600 half-day workshop provides both an immediate productivity boost and a foundation for future AI skill building. The value comes from the proven curriculum, the small group format, the hands-on practice, and the personal assistance from expert instructors. Be sure to check with your employer to see if they reimburse professional development expenses.

Martha, Adobe
This is the first time it has made sense. I couldn’t even pronounce it before. The whole thing seemed foreign and irrelevant — something I thought was for engineers.

Stephanie, Manager
I liked the format and the relaxed, interactive style of the workshop. It was the right size group to encourage good dialogue.

Bibi, Consultant
That was the most well-presented, humorous, informative, concise and creative presentation I've seen...maybe ever. What a gift!
